After having breakfast at 06.30, our driver will drive you to Rinjani Trekking Information (RTC) to register. You will start walking uphill through the concrete paths for about 30 minutes in order to reach the main gate of Mount. Rinjani National Park. On the way you uphill you can certainly see the coffee plantations are growing gigantic. In the main gate, you can take a break for a few minutes. Going a couple metres into the gate, you will be welcomed by the tropical rainforest. Along the way, you will see and hear a variety of large trees, animal sounds. Walking for 1 hour, you will reach pos 1 (915 masl). After that, it requires 2 minutes to reach pos 2 (1.500 masl) in where you can rest and lie down to recharge your energy while waiting for your guide and porters preparing for your lunch. When waiting, you will enjoy your soft drinks, choco biscuits and fresh fruits in the middle of tropical rainforest with the monkeys jumping around. After eating lunch, you will continue your walk for about 2 hours to get to pos 3 (2.000 masl). Along the way, you will discover the thorny local strawberries growing. In pos 3 which is the border between the tropical rainforest and the hills. You will the hike up the hills that lead to the basecamp, it normally takes 2 hours to get up there. From Senaru Crater Rim (2.641 masl) in where will camp you can see the painstakingly scenic views like the idyllic sunset over the gilis, the majestic Mount Agung in Bali, and the sea-like lake view. In the night, you will see the sparkling stars overhead.
