Exploring Rinjani: A 3-Day Journey to the Summit and Lake
When arriving at the international airport of Lombok, we will pick you up by private car then drive you to your preferred hotel in Senaru where you will meet your guide whose responsibility is to give you pre-hiking information regarding the trekking procedures.
ITINERARY (start from Sembalun, end at Senaru village):
DAY 1: Senaru Village – Sembalun Village (1.150 masl) – Sembalun Crater Rim (2.369 masl)
Waking up at 05.30 am then having breakfast at 06.30 in the hotel is a must in order to prepare you physically before starting to trek. Your private car will be ready to bring you to Sembalun village which normally takes 50 minutes. When arriving there approximately at 7.50 am, you must register first at Rinjani Information Center (RIC). After registering, you’ll start walking at an elevation of 1.150. It normally takes about 3 hours to reach pos 1 Pemantauan (1.300 masl) in which people usually take a break for 5-10 minutes while enjoying the scenary of the savanna. Then, it normally takes less than an hour to reach pos 2 Tengengean (1.500 masl) where you will be served with Indonesian cuisines for you lunch in the middle of the savanna. After enjoying your lunch, you will continue your journey to pos 3 Pada Balong (1.800 masl) which normally takes 1 hour. There are two huts that you can sit down on after walking in striking heat. After taking a rest, you will climb several hills that lead to Sembalun Crater Rim (2.639 masl) which normally takes 3 to 4 hours. Sembalun Crater Rim is also known as a basecamp in where people camp a night long before the summit. From here, you will be awed by the scenary around you which includes the sea-like lake view and the mountain range. In addition, you will also be spoiled by the idyllic sunset.
DAY 2: Sembalun Crater Rim (2.639 masl) – Summit/Top (3.726 masl) – Segara Anak Lake and Hot Springs (2008 masl)-Senaru Crater Rim (2.641 masl)
On day 2, you will wake up at 02.00 am and get some tea and biscuits for your supper. At 02.30 am, you will start climbing up to the summit (3726 masl) which approximately takes 3 to 4 hours. The first stage is a moderate ascent of 2 hours walk, While the second stage is fairly easy like a long-pebbled path. the last stage is highly steep and difficult. From the summit, you could see all the island of lombok like a landscape, Segara Anak Lake, Sumbawa and Bali. after sunrise you will climb down to the Sembalun Crater Rim and have some hot ginger tea or coffee and breakfast like toasts, fried bananas with grated cheese on it. Afterward, you will descent to the Segara Anak Lake and the hot springs. The paths are quite steep and slippery. It normally takes 3 hours to reach the Segara Anak Lake. You will also have your lunch there on the lakeshore before soaking your body in the hot springs. It only takes 5 minutes to reach the hot springs from the lakeshore. In the hot springs, you will be spoiled with the distinctive aroma of sulfur. Other than that, the sulfur contained in the hot springs is believed to be terapheutic and good for your skin. After having a relaxing moment in the hot springs, you will climb up other 3 hills which each of those normally takes 1 hour. After 3 hours acsending to the Senaru Crater Rim in where you will camp, you will be amazed by the painstakingly mesmerizing views around you which include the tropical rainforest, the 3 gilis that are visible to eyes. In addition, you have your exquisite dinner with sparkling stars overhead.
DAY 03: Senaru Crater Rim (2.641 masl) – Senaru Village (601 masl)
After having breakfast while enjoying the sunrise, and taking some pictures of your last day in a piece of heaven on Earth beautiful, you will walk at 08.00 or 09.00 down to Senaru village which normally takes 5 to 6 hours. When arriving at pos 2 at 12:00 am, you will have your lunch. After having lunch, you will walk staright down to Senaru village which only takes 2 and half hours. At the end of your trek, our driver will take you to your next destination (Lombok International Airport/harbour).
